Zhou Xinmin: Hello, Miss Ouyang!I'd like to talk to you today about your literary work。I notice that you have been engaged in geological work for a long time。Geological work and literature seem to be quite far apart from each other. Can you talk about the relationship between geological work and your literary creation。

Ouyang Qiansen: Actually, geology and literature are very close。Many famous writers studied geology. Mr. Lu Xun studied mining before he studied medicine。Contemporary literary history has also left outstanding geological themes, such as "The Young Belt", "Deep Mountain treasure Exploration", "Boiling Mountains" and so on。

As for the influence of the geological industry on me, first of all, the literary atmosphere of the geological industry has given me a lot of influence。The geological industry attaches great importance to the cause of literature, and has established writers' associations in mining, petroleum, coal, metallurgy and other industries, especially the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, which has a large number of writers and an old tradition of literary creation。像溪青,黄世英,文乐然,何建明均是出于地矿部。In the 1980s, there were literary journals such as "Mountain Literature" and "Xinjie", and even provincial bureaus had literary journals。In 1984, Guizhou Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources founded the "Azalea" literary magazine, and my first literary work was published in it。The strong literary atmosphere of the geological industry has also deeply infected me, and it is also an important driving force to guide me on the road of literature。Inspired by the good literary atmosphere, I embarked on the road of literary creation。

Zhou Xinmin: It seems that the geological industry has also produced literary masters and excellent literary works。Your literary enlightenment was also related to geology。

Ouyang Qiansen: My literary enlightenment, of course, is related to earth and mining。1965I was born in Tongren County, Guizhou Province103Geological brigade。When I was able to speak Chinese, there were very few literary books, and what I could see were "The Golden Strip", "Sunny Day", "Unforgettable Battle", "Red Rock" and so on。Like "Romance of The Three Kingdoms", "Water Margin", "Journey to the West", "Liaozhai" and so on are heard。At that time, the staff of the geological team came from all over the country, and there were many intellectuals. In that era, when there was a lack of cultural life, listening to people tell stories was the most profound memory of my childhood。And that memory is why I love telling stories to this day。

After I became an adult, I searched for mining in the field of the geological team for eight years, and dared not say that I had traveled all over the mountains and rivers of the motherland, at least the western provinces and regions almost left my footprints。The characteristics of geological team members are to climb mountains and get involved in dangerous steps。I've been to the toughest places, even the middle of nowhere。This guy almost got lost in the mountains, too。With that experience, I was content to take up writing。Of course, I am not saying that writing is not hard, especially in the case of television scripts, emergency writing in a day2万字。Sometimes meet colleagues, all say that scriptwriters are hard, there are also different lines of people say that we are hard, I never think so, I said, geological team members have done, but also afraid of dry scriptwriters?Eight years of mining career, is the life of the most bitter and most memorable, nearly 50 years of me, as long as the dream, mostly in the field of mining scene。Almost half of my novels are related to earth and mining。It should be said that getting close to nature and keeping company with the stars and sky have had a lifelong influence on my literary creation。

Zhou Xinmin: Next, I would like to discuss your literary creation with you。1980Since the middle of the century, there has been a vulgar phenomenon in Chinese literature, and the evil of human nature has become the focus of literary works。I have noticed that your novels are not mundane, but tend to focus on human goodness。What is your consideration on this issue。

Ouyang Qiansen: The evil of human nature, thisHow to define "evil" is a problem。If we say that the difference from evil is these two words: "no self-interest, dedicated to others;A man who is pure, noble, out of vulgar taste, then, no one is evil。To paraphrase those two sentences, there is no doubt that the instinct of human nature is evil。There is an old saying that people are born good。In that sense, it's not。If nature were good, Confucius would have nothing to do, and Buddhists would not need to cultivate。The purpose of cultivation is very clear, that is, to get rid of evil。Confucius's goal is also very clear, to educate people, let people follow benevolence, justice, etiquette, wisdom, faith, forgiveness, loyalty, filial piety, fraternity。The same is true of literary works, people say that the text is the person, who loves how to write?What is written?Of course, it is his business, this does not matter, what matters is that this cannot become the trend of a great nation, or the mainstream。My work is concerned with the goodness of human nature, not so much that I am too idealistic, but that I am too worried。What does this mean?It means kindness is so valuable these days。There are too many examples to list, which is shocking。Who can be calm in these troubled times?As long as your eyes are not blind, your ears are not deaf, and your brain is still thinking, you will surely rise from worry to anxiety。Yes, with anxiety, you want to change。To be honest, as a writer, it must seem like a big talk to change reality, but our best way is to aspire to truth, goodness, and beauty, although we may not be able to do it。The world says that the writer is the soul engineer, our soul is full of indifference and lack of temperature, how can we warm the hearts of others?

Zhou Xinmin: Related to the previous question, your novels are full of romanticism。自从Romanticism has been rare in Chinese literature since the "new realistic" novels。Why do you love romanticism?What value do you think Romanticism has?

Ouyang Qiansen: In the long river of thousands of years of literature history, in the sky of history shining with countless great names, such as Qu Yuan, Li Bai and other works, all full of romanticism。The Chinese literary tradition is never short of romance。I grew up reading classics, especially those filled with romanticism。Romantic literature emphasizes the expression of the writer's subjective ideal and expresses strong personal feelings。It is characterized by subjectivity, ideal and emotion。And admire nature.。Romanticism, which spread throughout the world in the eighteenth century, still shines brightly today。

Zhou Xinmin:Your female characters are very distinctive。I can see that you see women as the embodiment of beauty and kindness。Can you talk a little bit about the meaning of this portrayal of women?

Ouyang Qiansen: Worship of mother。For me, my mother is my first teacher。My mother's culture is not high, but she is very good at telling stories, and almost all the good stories in the Chinese tradition are told to me by my mother。Mother and her contemporaries of women, have an essential feature, is a good inheritance of the virtues of Chinese women。In my eyes, mother is the embodiment of truth, goodness and beauty。In reality, nowadays women are afraid to say much about these virtues。Therefore, I hope and yearn in my works。I remember when I was a child, even if my mother told a ghost story, it would not make me afraid, because my mother was full of maternal kindness。My mother is fast90Years old, although the spoken language is not clear, but her voice as soon as the exit, the room is filled with a kind voice。I set the women in my works in this way to tell women (including my wife and daughter) that no matter how we live, we still have to have a kind heart to yearn for life and love life。

Zhou Xinmin: The conflict between man and nature is a major theme in your novels。You've put a lot of effort into this topic。Objectively speaking, you are one of the important writers of ecological literature in China。Compared with other writers, your work in this field has lasted longer and produced more. Can you talk about the motivation and purpose of your continuous efforts in ecological literature。

Ouyang Qiansen: The ecological environment of the earth has reached a period of extraordinary crisis, which is almost an indisputable fact。But how many people really care?How many people really feel worried?The answer is that the vast majority of people fundamentally do not care and have no worries。Of course, the conflict between man and nature has never stopped since ancient times, but it is particularly acute today。As I wrote at the end of my short story "Broken River" : Yes, when Tiger Ridge has no tigers, when wild duck Pond has no ducks, when Green Pine Slope has no pines, or when oil City has no oil, when coal has no coal……。There are more people, but other species are rapidly disappearing。The result is that humanity eventually destroys itself。I am a writer by training in geology, and it is my instinct to care about people and nature。More than half of my work reflects on the conflict between man and nature。However, it does not help, look at how many rivers we still have not been polluted, and how many streams are still spring water。The reason why I have written so many works that reflect ecology is very simple, and the purpose is to continue to warn。The great Lao-Tzu, as early as two thousand years ago in his Tao Te Ching, had already reached a materialistic conclusion on this matter。Failure to recognize and follow the laws of nature and natural laws, the result is self-inflicted。

Zhou Xinmin: In your works, nature is full of vitality and spirituality, such as forests and stones are full of full spirituality。If you write about nature in this way, does it include your unique understanding of nature?

Ouyang Qiansen: The ancients said that everything has a spirit, and I deeply believe that。Whether animal or plant, large or small, existence is reasonable。There is a saying in nature that one thing is a thing, and there is a saying that one thing supports one thing, perhaps the disappearance of a species brings about the break of the chain of survival。Such disruptions are particularly frightening, and can lead to the disappearance of dozens or even hundreds of species。Some scientists assert that if bees disappear, humans will only have four years。This is not shocking, scientists have very convincing evidence that most of the plants that humans can live with depend on bees to pollinate and reproduce.That's it without the little bee。So I'm in awe of nature。

Zhou Xinmin: I also noticed that your novels are full of regional culture。The unique regional culture of Guizhou is an important factor in the charm of your novel。Can you talk about the significance and value of regional culture in fiction?

Ouyang Qiansen: Most of my novels are based on Guizhou, and I focus more on Tongren, my birthplace in East Guizhou。Guizhou Fuzhi Zeng reputation Tongren:"Tongren is the only beautiful county in Guizhou。Tongren is located at the foot of Fanjing Mountain, the main peak of the Wuling Mountains, which is a place that belongs to the beauty of the mountains, the beauty of the water and the beauty of the people。Guizhou province was founded only 600 years ago, Tongren Prefecture was originally affiliated to Wuling County and Qianzhong County of Huguang Province, belonging to the category of Chu culture。My novel has a flavor of Chu, but also a kind of necessity。If you want to give such examples, the short stories "Short River", "Beating the dog", the novella "White and black", "Crystal Valley" is the representative of Chu taste。Literature and region belong to the relationship between mother and child, in other words, the quality of the mother is related to the good of the son, and the folk customs, behavior patterns, language characteristics determine the taste of literature。

Zhou Xinmin: Your novels are full of ancient traditional novel implications. How do you think about the creative integration of ancient Chinese novels into contemporary novels? Are you consciously engaged in such creative practice?

Ouyang Qiansen: The main characteristics of traditional novels are clear self-stand, concise and vivid language, and vivid characters。From the Ming and Qing novels can be seen, can be described as the peak。What is missing in today's fiction is the essence of these classical novels。Inheriting the excellent culture and innovating in the excellent tradition is the wise move of Chinese language writers。I am familiar with all kinds of popular classical novels, and naturally influenced by them。Of course, not all classical novels are classic, and there are some that feel bad after reading them。Mr. Lu Xun once said that the past is for the present, and the foreign is for China, which can actually be used as a guide for our creation。To serve the present, of course, is to discard the dross and learn the essence。It is also the case that foreign countries serve Chinese purposes。Of course, I understand. I'm yellow, I have black hair, I have black eyes. You know where my roots are。In foreign use, I really lack。

Zhou Xinmin: In addition to the profound ideological and cultural connotation of your novels, you also have your own unique features in the art of fiction。I have noticed that your short stories do not focus on social history, but often use social history as a backdrop。Can you talk about your thinking about the specific works?

   Ouyang Qiansen: I often think about this question, but after reading the article my former chairman Mr. He Shiguang wrote for my short story, I think he is more profound than I am。Mr. He Shikwong's article is as follows to share our encouragement:"Whether a novel is a short story, a novella or a long story, no matter what kind of characters, scenes and plots are written down, it is also a narrative and telling。Behind this narrative, there is also the image of the speaker himself。I remember Gorky said that Chekhov's narrative is like the autumn sunshine, wide, bright, and faintly sad。Qu Qiubai said that Mr. Lu Xun's writing was permeated with sober realism and tough fighting spirit。If there is a kind of wisdom, feelings and vision behind a work, there will be a kind of traction force, which can lead us to roam in the years and life。”

Zhou Xinmin: I like your short stories very much. Can you talk about your view of short stories?

Ouyang Qiansen: Short stories are the most difficult to hide, unlike long novels, the language lacks effort, the story can be told better, the story is bad, the characters can be shaped better, in short, can make up for it。Writing a good short story does not mean that you want to write it, don't think that it is easy to deal with, don't think that it can be short。That, for me, is how I understand short stories。So in my novel creation, there are not many short stories。写作20More years, there500More than ten thousand words, a detailed count short also30More than ten thousand words。The number is a little small, but whenever someone talks to me about my novels, I can't help but talk about my short stories, as far as I am concerned, I value my few words more。Short stories are the most happy form of novel creation, as long as you think, you will find your impulse in a moment's touch, or in the wonderful moments of memory, this impulse is that you can immediately lift the pen, with a full and excited mood。Unfortunately, such a swing and happiness is too few。

Zhou Xinmin: I noticed that your multi-length novels have been adapted into film and television dramas. What do you think is the relationship between novels and film and television dramas?

Ouyang Qiansen: The novel has nothing to do with the TV script, two artistic styles。But movies and TV plays are too young than novels, and they especially need to find reliance in novels。In recent years, there have been too many good TV series adapted from long-form dramas。Earlier, I don't know how many versions of the four great classics such as The Romance of The Three Kingdoms have been shot。In the past decade, the number of novels adapted into TV series has been particularly large and very successful。The most recent is Lu Yao's "Ordinary World", which has high ratings and good reviews。
